"Ray, I took this Eastern on 5/2/12 using the 125 gn barbed spur. This broadhead anchored the bird instantly. I've used a lot of heads on turkey and this one is the best. Terrific flight and devistating wound channels. The arrow entered left of the anus and exited the chest. The bird absorbed about 95% of the energy from my 550 grain arrow shot from a 65 lb bow....pretty impressive! I'm looking forward to giving some 175 grain non vented this season on elk. I currently use the 125 gn and 150 gn non vented and they are a superb head as well."
Thanks for a great product.
Special thanks to Dave Harris for calling in this bird. Thanks, John Foster

Rick Malinas took this terrific Colorado bull on a Do It Yourself hunt with an Over The Counter tag! He didn’t know at the time it was the first bull taken with VPA’s new nonvevented 100. He writes:
"I took this bull the second morning of the 2011 Colorado archery elk season. It was a 57 yard quartering away shot. The VPA nonvented 100 entered the front of the rear ham and was sticking out the off side between the shoulder and neck. That is nearly 4 feet of penetration!! The head was in perfect condition, just needing a light sharpening and ready to hunt again. These heads tune and fly great and are as tough as they come!"

After watching multiple gobblers from my blind I managed to nail this 2 year old strutter through the base of the neck collapsing him on the spot. " VICTORY! Joseph scored on a small fat snow cone deer this afternoon. I was sitting close by and got to watch his patience while waiting for the perfect shot opportunity . . . one look at that entrance wound shows how he did. The deer folded after a 25 yard run, a perfect shot. He's now officially broken in the new side quiver Art Vincent made for him plus this is his first animal taken with a VPA 3-Blade broadhead." Gary Logsdon

Craig Grounds from Oklahoma took this terrific buck and writes....
"Just wanted to send you a few pics of the buck I took with one of your 250 grain VPA 3-Blade Broadheads on Friday. This is a buck I'd been watching since this past summer. He's the dominant buck of the area and as you can see by his broken brow tines he's been in a few fights in the past few weeks! Made a double lung shot with my recurve as he was trotting after a doe and he went 13 yards and collapsed. The broadhead was buried 4" into the dirt on the opposite side. I'm extraordinarily pleased with your broadheads...they're the first 3-blade I've tried that I can get truly razor sharp, and this was the quickest kill I've ever made or witnessed.
Thanks for the great broadheads!"

Our Pro Staffer, Ilene Hailey, took this great buck on an all ladies hunt in Illinois. Here is the story:
"He came out about 80 yards away with three other bucks and they moved out to around 150 yards. I thought it would never happen as it was getting dark quickly. He started chasing and posturing to some other smaller bucks. Suddenly he made a beeline right to me, stopped at 35 yards and began feeding. With fading light, I found the crease behind his shoulder and squeezed the trigger on the release. The buck jumped and I saw the dirt fly behind him. He ran 20 yards and slowed to a walk before lying down. He got up once, hunched up and went back down. Upon retrieval, I saw the VPA 3-Blade broadhead had left a massive entrance hole, the size of a fifty cent piece, before making a complete pass through. Because of the angle, the VPA 3-Blade broadhead took out one lung and destroyed the liver. The first question asked by one of the guys who helped retrieve him was “ What the hell kind of broadhead are you using? That hole is huge!"

Gary Taylor, from Forest, VA took this nice tall tined, main frame 8, 10 pointer in Bedford County. He writes....
"I was in my favorite early fall ground blind known to me as the “woodpile”. The light was fading fast as the does started passing me single file one by one. They were 30 yards past me and started running back. I knew there had to be a buck pushing them. At that moment he appeared 50 yards away on a dead walk straight to me. He had me pinned down and was within 10 yards as he turned to walk past me. I got up onto my knees to prepare to take a shot but I had no lane. He then turned and started back to me. Once again at 10 yards he turned and walked away, this is when I drew back. At 20 yards , I whistled at him, he turned quartering to me and I let the arrow fly. Hearing the thump and cracking of bone, he ran over the hillside. I heard a crash and knew he went down. I backed out for about 2 hrs just in case. Upon my return I found my arrow broke in half, 10 yards from where he last stood. I recovered him on the creek bottom 40 yards from where he stood. The arrow had hit him in the front left shoulder and exited through right shoulder. I am very pleased with the performance of the 125 grain VPA 3-Blade broadhead, effectiveness and ability to pass through bone. Great product, glad you could help me take a great buck! "
Thanks much! Gary Taylor Forest, VA

Mark Burcham, of Rockville, Virginia, took this nice, odd-racked, 9 point in Prince Edward County with a VPA 3-Blade broadhead.
Mark says; "He kicked like a bronco, ran about 20 feet, stopped and looked back as if to say “What was that?”. Then he took a step backward, like he was trying to keep his balance and fell over as if he was frozen. I never had a deer go down that fast, even with a gun!"

Andy Ivy picked up some VPA 3-Blade 300s, from Bill at Zipper Bows, to take to South Africa while guiding hunts there. He writes: "I’ve been looking for a head like this for a long time, very, very impressive. I’m pretty picky with may gear and a good solid broadhead is not always easy to come by. I killed all my animals with the same head. ‘Just re-sharpened each time. ‘Holds a great edge, very easy to sharpen. It’ll probably kill several more animals up here in Australia until I lose it because I’m sure I can't break it…"
Andy says in regards to the Gemsbok pictured, "Shot this Gemmbok at 16 meters. Complete pass through. Ran 40 meters and died. This is one of the hardest animals in our hunting area to kill with a gun. I was the first to kill one in this area with a bow and 300 grain VPA 3-Blade broadhead…"
In addition to the Gemsbok Andy also mentioned he took Steennbok, Duiker and and made a headshot on an Ostrich.
Congrats Andy!

"Hey guys, This is "guru" from TG. Just wanted to let you guys know how happy I am with the bh's you' all sent me. They have performed flawlessly! I never did get to use any on deer, I was mostly saving them for hogs. But I did manage to take a nice Coyote during our gun season with the 250 screw-on that you sent me. I'll attach some pix...coyote was taken with Miss Faith, the Trad Gang left handed traveling bow, Vapor 3000 arrow, with the 250gr. solid screw-on. He only went 40yds after the shot...
I then got a chance to use them on hogs on a recent trip to Florida for the holidays with the family. Managed to kill 4 while I was there. Three boars and one sow. All four were killed with the 160 glue-on's on 125 steel adapters."

Our own Jeff Miller was bowhunting on the ground when he saw this coyote at about 100 yards. He squeaked him into about 15 yards before taking him with a VPA 3-Blade 250 grain broadhead. Congratulations Jeff!

" The squirrels have really been out today filling up in advance of a big cold front. I slipped to within 14 yards of this guy and centered him with a 250 grain VPA Small Game Thumper. An absolutely devastating hit; he was stone dead before I got to him. Consider him THUMPED!" Gary Logsdon

"Hey Everyone! Here's a pic of me with a ten but even more important is Kira with her first deer. She shot it this weekend. Check out her pick. Not bad for an eleven year old!" John Ritter

|
"This is pig #13 for 2009. Pigs #2 - #13 were all killed with the same VPA 3-Blade broadhead, and the same arrow. It's a sow weighing around 100lbs give or take a little. Was about a 10 yard shot from 15' up a tree. Entry was just behind, and between the ears in the top of the head. Exit was belly. The pictures pretty much explain it. She dropped like a sack of wet cement. I had three doe just about in position to shoot the lead doe, but the pigs ran them off before it happened. The pigs paid the price." Rick Barbee
Equipment: Blackwidow PMAX 68#, VPA 3-Blade 175gr screw in broadhead.

"I have a 1955 Bear Kodiak Special that I bought several months ago because I wanted a birth year bow. At that time I made a commitment to shoot the first adult whitetail I had a chance at and this one cooperated. PS: Used an old Bear painted cedar arrow tipped with one of the new VPA 3-Blade 250 grain glue-ons." Gary Logsdon

"Your VPA broadheads did the trick! I was fortunate to try them out on this 375 pound California Black Bear. The bear green scored 19.5" and should easily make Pope and Young. Thanks I may need to try your 100 grain broadheads if I can find time to chase Indiana whitetails! Thanks" Eric Ellingson, Indiana

|
"This was pig #11 with a single 175gr screw in VPA 3-blade broadhead.
Bow - Black Widow PMAX 68# 64"
Arrow - 675gr 7595 GT Trads.
String - 9 strand Ultracam Flemish Twist.
These pictures pretty much speak for themselves as to the angle of the shot, point of entry, and point of exit,
but as you can see - the arrow entered back center of the right rib cage, and exited behind the left ear.
Shot distance - 17 paces.
Right Lung, Heart, Spine, through the back of the Skull, and exited just behind the Left Ear.
This arrow would not have stopped, but upon impact, it rolled the pig up onto his head, and left shoulder which caused the arrow to dig dirt, and stop.
Recovery distance - approximately 26 inches, and 10 seconds from the point of impact to Total, Still, Stone Cold, Dead.
I have actually killed 12 pigs now with the VPA 3-Blade broadhead. All pass throughs except this last one. VPA 3-Blade broadhead #1 killed Pig #1, but got bent up real bad on something in the ground after it passed through the pig. VPA 3-Blade broadhead #2 killed pigs #2 - #11.
Of the 12 pigs, 8 were taken by ambushing them on trails, and calling them in. The other 4 were killed at a feeder at night.
I've been terrorizing them so much, that they have gone pretty much totally nocturnal on me now.
Yea - You could say I am a whole lot more than just pleased with these broadheads. I love them."

"Jake, killed him tonight. The VPA 3-Blade 250 did the trick. Hit opposite shoulder after double lung. Buck ran 65 yards and expired.
Fast fast death. I attribute this to the high quality steel and the ease to get the heads scary sharp. No damage to the head and it's back on my quiver. Thanks for the great product!

|
Here's what Eric Funk had to say about his 160gr glue-on.
"I want to first off thank you guys for making such a quality product, it is by far the simplest broadhead I have sharpened and holds a very deadly edge. Took this doe Oct 17th at 8yds with a 55lb Ben Pearson Recurve, but I didn't a pass through, well the reason would be she was quartering away and the VPA 3-Blade broadhead blew through and stuck in the off side shoulder joint. Now most heads would have been bent to a non usable form, when dressing was done I found the head, removed it and other then being bloody, the head looked new, now nicks in the blades no bending. That head is now on another cedar shaft ready to head out this coming weekend to do its job again."
